We are seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to join our team. This is a high-profile role that requires extensive expertise in PostgreSQL (Open Source & EDB) and hands-on experience across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing mission-critical databases, architecting high-availability solutions, executing performance tuning, and delivering robust backup and recovery strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Administer, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases (Open Source and EDB PostgreSQL) across on-premises and cloud (AWS RDS & Aurora, Microsoft Azure Database for PostgreSQL, GCP).
  • Perform database installation using source code, RPM packages, and one-click deployment methods.
  • Architect and implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies, including replication (streaming, cascading), failover, and DR servers.
  • Configure and manage load balancing using pgpool.
  • Design and execute logical and physical backup strategies using BARMAN, pgbackrest, and native PostgreSQL tools.
  • Implement and test Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR) and restore strategies (pg_restore, pg_dump, pg_upgrade).
  • Manage version upgrades (major & minor) with zero or minimal downtime.
  • Apply database patches and security updates in a controlled, documented manner.
  • Monitor database health using pgAdmin, pgbadger, pgbouncer, and custom scripts.
  • Optimize database parameters for maximum performance and stability.
  • Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks, query tuning, and resource utilization issues.
Requirements
  • PostgreSQL Core & EDB PostgreSQL architecture, replication, backup & recovery.
  • Monitoring & Administration Tools: pgAdmin, pgbadger, pgbouncer, pg_repack, repmgr.
  • Backup & DR Tools: BARMAN, pgbackrest.
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS (RDS, Aurora), Azure (PostgreSQL, Query Store), GCP (PostgreSQL).
  • Performance & Tuning: Query optimization, parameter tuning, connection pooling.
  • Scripting: Strong in Linux shell scripting for automation.
  • Migration Expertise: Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration strategies and execution.
