Coinbase is revolutionizing the way people interact with cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. As an Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading a team of highly skilled engineers to build and maintain critical platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of talented engineers in building and maintaining critical platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, helping them grow and develop their skills.
  • Work closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps and prioritize individual projects.
  • Develop and implement high-quality software engineering processes to maintain high-availability and low-latency for our ML inference infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and optimize low-latency streaming pipelines to provide the freshest and highest quality data for our ML models.
  • Evangelize state-of-the-art practices on building high-performance distributed training jobs that process large volumes of data.
  • Build tooling to observe the quality of data going into our models and detect degradations impacting model performance.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • At least 2+ years of engineering management experience.
  • Proven track record of designing, building, and scaling production applications while leading teams of highly competent engineers.
  • Experience in upleveling junior engineers via processes and setting a high bar for them to follow.
  • Deep understanding of high-quality code and software engineering processes, with a bias toward open and transparent cultural practices.
  • Passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with Golang, Docker, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
  • Background in working with AI/LLM models is a plus.
