Senior IT Specialist: Financial Systems Integration

Talent500 is hiring a Senior Engineer, Site Reliability (SRE) to ensure the stability and scalability of accounting and finance platforms.

This critical role involves delivering highly reliable financial applications and data services that meet demanding requirements for accuracy, compliance, and availability.

The SRE will build automation, implement monitoring, improve incident response, and champion DevOps practices to enable Finance and Accounting systems to operate with consistency and trustworthiness.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring accounting and finance platforms meet defined service level agreements (SLAs), service level objectives (SLOs), and service level indicators (SLIs)
  • Building automation for deployments, monitoring, scaling, and self-healing capabilities to reduce manual effort and operational risk
  • Implementing and maintaining comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging for accounting applications and data pipelines
  • Leading and participating in on-call rotations, performing root cause analysis, and driving improvements to prevent recurrence of production issues
  • Establishing and enforcing best practices for capacity planning, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and compliance controls in financial systems
  • Partnering with software engineers, data engineers, and Finance/Accounting teams to ensure operational needs are met from development through production

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-7 years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or production engineering, ideally supporting financial or mission-critical applications
  • Strong experience with monitoring/observability tools, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, and financial system integrations from an operational support perspective
  • Strong scripting/programming experience for automation and tooling
  • Proven ability to manage incident response and conduct blameless postmortems
  • Experience ensuring compliance, security, and audit-readiness in enterprise applications

Must have skills include:

  • Strong experience with Snowflake and SQL
  • Hands-on SRE and DevOps expertise
  • Solid monitoring and observability skills
  • Proven experience supporting financial systems
  • Strong communication skills

Nice to have skills include:

  • Exposure to FinOps practices
  • Familiarity with containers and orchestration
  • Experience building resilience into data pipelines and ensuring auditability
  • Broader knowledge of emerging frameworks and tools in cloud and finance tech
