Senior Data Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and implementation of large-scale data processing systems using AWS technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has strong technical knowledge, a passion for learning, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience with AWS services, cloud databases, big data technologies, and programming languages such as Scala, Python, and Shell Scripts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, developing and enhancing spark jobs using Scala, and ensuring optimal balance between cost and performance. They will also be responsible for database design process, logical design, physical design, star schema, snowflake schema etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement large-scale data processing systems using AWS technologies.
  • Develop and enhance spark jobs using Scala.
  • Performance tuning of spark jobs, stress testing etc.
  • Create new data pipelines using AWS Lambda or Apache Airflow.
  • Responsible for database design process, logical design, physical design, star schema, snowflake schema etc.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • At least 7 years of IT experience with at least 5 years of AWS related project experience.
  • Associate Level and Professional Level AWS Certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS Services: S3, EC2, EMR, Serverless, Athena, AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions.
  • Cloud Databases: AWS Aurora, Singlestore, RedShift, Snowflake.
  • Big Data: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, YARN.
  • Programming Language: Scala, Python, Shell Scripts, PySpark.
  • Operating System: Any flavor of Linux, Windows.
