Job Title: Content Editor

At EssentiallySports, we're seeking a skilled Content Editor to join our team of passionate sports industry professionals. As a key member of our editorial team, you'll play a vital role in crafting compelling stories that leave an unforgettable mark on our audience.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional editing skills, with the ability to refine and elevate content to meet the high standards of our fast-paced newsroom. A deep understanding of our audience is crucial, as you'll work closely with writers, editors, and content managers to refine and enhance the impact and relevance of our published content.

  • A bachelor's degree in English, Media/Journalism or a similar discipline.
  • 1-2 years of experience in sports content editing, proofreading, or a similar role.
  • A strong command of the English language and an understanding of American culture.
  • Energy and creativity to bring articles to life, ensuring each piece resonates with readers and leaves a lasting impression.
  • Analytical skills to analyze article performance metrics and use insights to consistently elevate content quality.
  • A basic understanding of SEO principles, including crafting engaging headings and subheadings.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and mentor a team of talented writers.

As a Sports Content Editor at EssentiallySports:

  • You'll be responsible for editing and publishing 20-25 articles daily, maintaining the highest quality of our content.
  • Each article will be thoroughly fact-checked, well-researched, and ready to deliver value to our readers.
  • With a deep understanding of our audience, you'll fine-tune content, enhancing its impact and relevance even after publication.
  • You'll collaborate closely with a skilled team of writers, editors, and content managers to constantly refine and elevate our content.
  • As a mentor, you'll inspire and empower writers, helping them grow and evolve as contributors to the team.
  • Timeliness is critical - staying on top of breaking news ensures our readers are always up-to-date as events unfold.
  • This role requires working six days a week in US shifts, aligning with a schedule that meets the needs of our American audience.
