Assistant Chief Engineer Role

The Assistant Chief Engineer is a key role that reports directly to the Chief Engineer and plays a vital part in ensuring the hotel building remains in good condition at all times. This position is responsible for overseeing maintenance work, supervising employees, and coordinating with external contractors.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure buildings, facilities, and equipment are well-maintained and operated efficiently.
  • Direct and supervise the implementation of effective major problem reporting systems to ensure that all issues are promptly addressed and resolved.
  • Collaborate with purchasing managers to evaluate quotations from external contractors and negotiate terms.
  • Supervise and inspect warehouse management operations in the Engineering department to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in developing annual budgets and achieve cost control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local and regional health and safety standards, and fire safety regulations.
  • Recruit and manage personnel to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Provide guidance and advice to employees on their personal development and career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and report any issues or concerns to the Chief Engineer.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and reports as required.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Monitor and analyze data to inform maintenance strategies and optimize resource allocation.
