We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to oversee the entire procurement process, from vendor management to expediting orders. This role requires strong analytical and negotiation skills, as well as experience with data analysis using an enterprise procurement system.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing global procurement and sourcing from US-based suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while meeting budget expectations. Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-End Procurement Management
This involves overseeing the procurement process, including vendor confirmation, auto PO fixation, rush orders, vendor master data management, expediting, e-sourcing, and service master agreement creation.
- Price and Data Analysis
The Procurement Specialist will analyze supplier pricing to ensure the company meets budget expectations or report necessary adjustments to master data files.
- Supplier Coordination
The successful candidate will ensure suppliers meet required timing for materials and advise internal teams about delivery delays as soon as they're identified.
- Purchase Requisition and Vendor Sourcing
This involves reviewing purchase requisitions and identifying appropriate sources for supply, utilizing e-sourcing tools to create service master agreements, and managing contract terms.
- Negotiation
The Procurement Specialist will negotiate with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, and conditions to achieve cost savings for the business.
- Team Leadership
They will lead a team of 7-10 members, providing guidance and support for efficient operations.
- Reporting and Analysis
The successful candidate will publish weekly and monthly reports (SLA dashboards, MIS reports, PowerPoint presentations) and send them to the supervisor.
- Purchase Order Creation in SAP
This involves creating and managing purchase orders in SAP to ensure proper documentation and tracking.
- Expediting Orders
The Procurement Specialist will expedite orders as needed to ensure timely delivery of goods, services, and works.
Requirements
- A minimum Associate degree or higher (preferably)
The ideal candidate should have progressive experience in purchasing, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, experience with data analysis using an enterprise procurement system, and high-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated track record of motivation and success
Experience in a laboratory setting or within the Bio/Life Sciences industry is preferred, as is a background in Operations or Supply Chain Management.
