Mortgage Origination

Mortgage loan originators and team managers are crucial to the success of any mortgage lending business. This role requires a unique blend of leadership skills, mortgage industry knowledge, and strong communication abilities.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in mortgage origination and team management, with a deep understanding of US home loan products and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day operations, including training, hiring, recruiting, and performance reviews for junior loan officers (JLs)
• Possess working knowledge and hands-on experience for RESPA/TRID review and other federal, state, and industry compliance requirements
• Interface professionally with title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and lenders to ensure successful closings
• Elevate customer satisfaction by assisting in the application process, overseeing all mortgage loan closings, and completing post-closing requirements efficiently
• Ensure high-quality residential mortgage loans and refinances by adhering to lender underwriting guidelines and federal/state regulations
• Develop coaching and training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge
• Utilize quality assurance data to improve lender decision-making
• Identify gaps and document processes/procedures
• Create a reporting suite for clear performance communication to team members, peers, manager, and Executive Leadership
• Monitor and oversee loan production pipeline
• Ensure departmental KPIs are met
• Prepare action plans/correction actions when individual metrics are not met
• Communicate key initiatives, deliverables, and expectations across team members, peers, managers, and Executive Leadership
• Manage administrative tasks of the department (timecards, schedules, vacations, performance reviews)
• Continually review processes and identify areas for improvement
• Identify strategic/technology improvements

Qualifications

• Minimum 72-84 months of mortgage origination and team management experience in US home loan products
• Working knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and TRID guidelines
• Management experience in human resources or operations management
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good supervision, organization, and math skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Sound judgment skills essential for making quick decisions within written policy and standard operating procedures
