Credit Manager

We seek experienced professionals to fill a key role in our mortgage underwriting team.

  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mortgage lending, with expertise in assessing home loan applications and making high-quality credit decisions.
  • Key responsibilities include verifying income, performing credit checks, property valuation reviews, and lending assessments.
  • Liaising with stakeholders such as brokers, lenders, and internal teams for clarifications or documentation gaps.
  • Providing timely and quality credit decisions while meeting service level agreements and compliance standards.
  • Adhering to national credit consumer protection and other regulatory requirements.
  • Mentoring junior underwriters and supporting process improvements.
  • Preparing reports on pipeline, service level agreements, and quality metrics.
Requirements
  • A finance, commerce, or related field graduate/postgraduate degree is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience, with at least 2-3 years in the Australian home loan domain.
  • A strong understanding of Australian credit policies, responsible lending guidelines, and loan origination systems is essential.
  • Experience working with multiple lenders is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills are required.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
  • Certification in mortgage lending or credit assessment is advantageous.
  • Experience with various income types including PAYG, self-employed, rental, and foreign income.
  • Sound knowledge of credit bureaus like Equifax (AU).
  • Familiarity with verification tools and fraud checks used in the Australian mortgage ecosystem.
