Key Role: Data Architecture Expert

A company is seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead their data architecture efforts. This key position demands 14-18 years of experience in data engineering and architecture, with expertise in designing scalable lakehouse/warehouse architectures and event-driven data pipelines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dimensional/star schema modeling, as well as familiarity with Data Vault and canonical modeling patterns. They should also be well-versed in Azure data stack technologies and Power BI.

  • Owning the end-to-end data architecture for a cross-product reporting solution, defining a canonical insurance data model, establishing robust data contracts and versioned schemas, and designing multi-tenant data isolation and security are critical responsibilities.

Additionally, they will drive performance, reliability, and cost optimization, publish the tooling roadmap, enablement, and release management for data. Collaborating with product, engineering, and implementation teams to prioritize analytics use cases and deliver roadmaps tied to customer outcomes is also essential.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years in data engineering/architecture, with 5+ years architecting analytics platforms for SaaS or enterprise products.
  • Proven experience designing lakehouse/warehouse architectures and event-driven data pipelines at scale (Kafka/Event Hubs).
  • Strong dimensional/star schema modeling; familiarity with Data Vault and canonical modeling patterns.
  • Expertise with Azure data stack (ADLS Gen2, Fabric or Databricks + Delta, Synapse/Fabric pipelines, Azure SQL/PostgreSQL, Purview, Key Vault) and Power BI.
  • Deep understanding of insurance data (policy lifecycle, coverages/endorsements, claims, premiums, reserves, bordereaux, broker accounting).
  • Hands-on with Python/SQL; CI/CD for data (tests, orchestration, IaC/DevOps).
  • Grounding in data governance, lineage, and security (RBAC/ABAC, PII, encryption, retention); experience with SOC 2/GDPR/PCI-DSS controls.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge of reinsurance, bordereaux reporting, and regulatory/data-sharing requirements.
  • Familiarity with DAMA-DMBOK practices and metric standardization frameworks.
  • Certifications in Azure Data, Databricks, or Power BI; Agile experience.
