Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cloud infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our private cloud infrastructure based on VMware platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management:

  • Collaborate with the Client IaaS Operations and Engineering Team to manage and maintain the platform.
  • Understand requirements related to security, scalability, availability, and performance of the private cloud infrastructure.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and resolve technical problems.

CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEERING:

  • Automate, implement, administer, and maintain our cloud infrastructure, including provisioning, backups/restores, upgrades, and monitoring.
  • Liaise with vendors, internal business units, and internal customers for problem resolution and best practices.

SECURITY AND GOVERNANCE:

  • Ensure security of production infrastructure systems and tools.
  • Implement security controls on infrastructure components.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in supporting private cloud infrastructure based on VMware platform.

You should also have strong understanding of infrastructure platform automation technology products like VMware vRealize Suite and VMware Cloud Foundation.

In addition, experience in using tools like Ansible, Hashicorp Vault will be an added advantage.

Knowledge of DevOps technologies, cloud-based provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting is also required.

The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of Linux/Windows system configuration and troubleshooting.

Able to come up with Bash or PowerShell scripts to automate repeatable processes.

Familiarity with infrastructure as code and network fundamentals is necessary.

Bonus points if you have basic understanding of cloud security.
