Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Design Engineer to play a crucial role in the development and implementation of Extra-High Voltage (EHV) substation designs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and developing EHV substation concepts, detailed designs, and calculations while ensuring compliance with relevant specifications and standards.

  • The successful candidate will design and develop EHV substation concepts, detailed designs, and calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant specifications and standards.
  • They will coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of design documentation and drawings.
  • Review and finalize vendor proposals, technical data schedules, and as-built documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and progress monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-bid engineering and detailing with material take-off
  • Review of specifications and preparation of clarifications
  • Technical evaluation of vendor/supplier proposals
  • Review, finalization, and preparation of technical data schedules
  • Preparation of base design documentation and calculations
  • Preparation of GA/sections and details for finalization of overall layout drawings
  • Preparation of civil guide drawings and overall services coordination drawings
  • Detailed review of civil design subcontractor's design output and coordination of interfaces with others
  • Submission of drawings to O/E and preparation and review of design documentation
  • Monitoring of document preparation, submission schedule, and approvals
  • Coordination and discussions of O/E comments
  • Preparation and review of detailed scope of work for civil design subcontractor and vendors/subcontractors
  • Preparation and review of BOQ for design and civil construction works
  • Support procurement procedures like enquiries, price comparison, and order placement
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for design/documentation outputs
  • Review of vendor documents with respect to project specification and drawings
  • Identify limitations/hold-ups for progress of design works and coordinate to resolve the same
  • Coordinate for ensuring correct sequence of drawings/documentation issue to suit progress of works and overall project schedule
  • Submission of subcontractor designs/drawings to customer
  • Attend discussions with O/E regarding related design issues and review and resolve customer comments and associated drawings revision
  • Review and finalize list of materials and their submittals
  • Update, modify, revise, and follow up of all the above till final approvals and acceptance of project works
  • Co-ordination of red mark drawings
  • Preparation of as-built documentation
  • Engineering support for uninterrupted progress of site activities
  • Preparation and submission of daily/weekly/monthly reports
