Optics Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Optics Engineer to design and develop the electron-optical column for our Scanning Electron Microscope.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in electron optics, alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop the electron-optical column, including source, condenser/objective lenses, alignment, and detector coupling.
  • Establish calibration routines and alignment jigs that are repeatable outside the lab.
  • Collaborate with Electronics and Software teams to ensure deterministic beam control and intuitive imaging controls.
  • Build and maintain the calibration playbook, including resolution, magnification, and distortion.

Requirements:

  • Deep experience in electron optics, with hands-on experience in alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology.
  • Ability to move between modeling, bench work, and factory documentation.
  • Clear communication skills to turn complex optics into simple, teachable procedures.
