Structural Engineering Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineering Lead to join our team and play a key role in the development of Trivandrum Port.

A senior structural engineer with a postgraduate degree in structural engineering and 10+ years of experience is required for this key role. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and executing key structural components for port infrastructure including breakwaters, jetties, quays, docks, and seawalls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Structural Engineering: Provide technical leadership and oversight for the execution of port infrastructure projects ensuring quality standards, project timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Project Management Consultancy (PMC): Provide technical leadership and oversight for the execution of port infrastructure projects ensuring quality standards, project timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with contractors, consultants, government agencies, and other engineers to ensure seamless coordination and integration of structural designs into the overall project.
  • Risk & Safety Management: Oversee risk mitigation strategies and safety measures ensuring that all structural designs and construction work comply with regulatory guidelines and safety standards.
  • Site Supervision & Quality Assurance: Supervise construction activities on-site providing technical guidance resolving issues and ensuring high-quality standards for structural integrity and sustainability.
  • Design Optimization: Implement advanced structural engineering principles to optimize designs for cost-effectiveness resilience and environmental sustainability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on marine and port infrastructure including breakwaters, jetties, quay walls, etc. with significant PMC experience.
  • Post Graduate degree in Structural Engineering specializing in marine structures or coastal engineering.
  • Proven experience in project management of large-scale port projects including budgeting, scheduling, and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, and other tools for design and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of marine structures including their response to wave forces, tide variations, sediment movement, and marine environmental conditions.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams collaborate with multiple stakeholders and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Expertise in contract management procurement and ensuring compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to present design concepts and project progress to stakeholders and clients.
