Job Title: Compliance Officer

This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence across various sectors including Oil & Gas, Marine, and Environmental.

The Compliance Officer is responsible for overseeing and implementing the Quality Management System (QMS) within operations and labs.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring the QMS to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, BIS, BPI, internal standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring and ensuring the effective implementation of the QMS in various departments and conducting regular quality audits (internal and external).
  • Managing corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), registering customer complaints, and resolving issues through investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Training staff on QMS requirements, quality procedures, and testing standards.
  • Conducting periodic quality checks for tests carried out in the LAB using appropriate tools like retest, Inter-laboratory, Intra-laboratory, proficiency tests etc.

The Compliance Officer also oversees the control of management system documents in the LAB, liaises with accreditation/approval/regulatory bodies regarding compliance and approval, reviews and approves quality management system documents, and identifies deviations from the management system or procedures for performing tests.

They coordinate and supervise quality inspection and testing activities under ISO 9001 and ISO 17025, collaborate with laboratory teams to ensure participation in PT/ ILC, calibration, and maintenance of instruments.

Required Qualification: B. Sc /M. Sc in Chemistry, Quality Management, or related field.

Relevant Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance or laboratory management, preferably within petroleum or chemical testing services.
