Linux Systems Administrator Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux systems administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Linux operating systems, including RedHat 6/7/8 and CentOS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Linux operating systems and Unix environments, ensuring seamless system performance and availability.
  • Perform general Unix/Linux administration tasks such as building and configuring virtual machines, software package installation, account maintenance, file permissions, system tuning, and implementing Shell scripting.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues, manage system services, and harden systems against security threats using TCP/IP networking in the OSI model for LAN/WAN environments.
  • Assist with break/fix, release management, and patching of Linux systems.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of network protocols and communication principles when interacting with customers and stakeholders.
  • Work effectively in VMware environments and have experience working with cloud administration tools (AWS, Azure, Google).

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience as a Linux systems administrator or equivalent education or training.
  • A degree resulting in an associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant professional certifications.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and ticketing systems.
  • Experience with enterprise systems for monitoring.
  • Any relevant certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, CCENT, VMware VCP, AWS, Azure.
