Senior Network Engineer Position Overview

The role of Senior Network Engineer involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures with a strong focus on IP/MPLS technologies.

  • Key responsibilities include design, implementation, and troubleshooting of complex IP/MPLS networks, including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS VPN, L3VPN, VPLS, and other advanced routing protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with Nokia 7750 SR, 7210 SAS, and other Nokia router platforms is required.
  • Candidates should have expertise in network configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs, is essential.
  • Experience in participating in network upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning is necessary.
  • Collaboration with other network engineers, system administrators, and application teams to resolve network issues is expected.
  • Documentation and maintenance of network configurations and operational procedures are key responsibilities.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in IP/MPLS networking is crucial.
  • Participation in on-call rotation for network support is also required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 8-15 years of experience in IP/MPLS networking with a strong focus on Nokia routers is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS VPN, L3VPN, VPLS, and other advanced routing protocols is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with Nokia 7750 SR, 7210 SAS, and other Nokia router platforms is required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are necessary.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are expected.
