Procurement Specialist

Our ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, estimation, and costing for engineering or infrastructure projects. They should be familiar with reading and interpreting project documents, technical drawings, and client specifications.

This role is responsible for sourcing and selecting vendors, managing bids, and performing detailed costing based on the bill of materials, current material rates, fabrication costs, and applicable overheads.

The Procurement Specialist must be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Search and study tenders, pre-qualification criteria (PQC), and technical specifications from various portals or client websites.
  • Coordinate with the Design team for BOQ preparation, review BOMs, and perform estimation and costing.
  • Prepare detailed costing based on BOM, current material rates, fabrication costs, and applicable overheads.
  • Float inquiries to suppliers, negotiate rates, and compile data for accurate cost estimation.
  • Prepare and submit final tender documents as per client requirements.
  • Track the status of submitted tenders, maintain a tender database, and perform win/loss analysis to improve future submissions.
Requirements

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Experience in procurement, estimation, and costing for engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting project documents, technical drawings, and client specifications.
  • Strong negotiation and coordination skills with vendors and internal teams.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, cost analysis, and report preparation.
