Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Specialist

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct environmental impact assessments for new and expansion projects of industries and mines, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Develop and implement effective environmental management plans to mitigate risks and ensure sustainable practices.
  3. Carry out hazardous waste audits to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for remediation.
  4. Perform environmental audits to assess compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
  5. Design, supply, construct, erect, and commission effluent treatment plants, sewage treatment plants with new technology, and wheel washing systems for plants and mines.
  6. Obtain forest clearance and manage solid and hazardous waste in accordance with statutory regulations.
  7. Provide consultancy services for environmental problems faced by plants and mines, ensuring adherence to environmental and statutory compliance.
  8. Conduct safety audits to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  9. Develop onsite emergency plans to ensure a swift response in case of environmental incidents.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Odisha, India. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing expert advice on environmental matters. Your day-to-day tasks will include monitoring environmental programs, assessing pollutants, and developing strategies to mitigate environmental impacts.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge in environmental compliance and impact assessment.
  • Experience in wastewater treatment and waste management.
  • Skills in environmental consulting, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in the environmental consulting or industry is a plus point.
