Telecom Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Telecom Specialist to install and maintain telecommunications systems in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Installing, testing, and repairing copper and fiber optic cables according to standard procedures.
  • Terminating and patching power cables for AC and DC power distribution.
  • Performing low-current work for CCTV, AP, and other devices.
  • Installing racks, PDUs, servers, switches, routers, chassis, and other equipment.
  • Identifying and replacing faulty components such as SFPs, patch cords, or transceivers.
  • Utilizing testing tools like power meters and OTDRs to diagnose fiber issues.
  • Providing remote access and basic configuration for PCs and network devices.
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating reports as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of copper and fiber optics, including splicing and termination techniques.
  • Proficiency in power cable termination and low-current work.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Basic knowledge of PC hardware and software.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
