Procurement Specialist for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients

We are seeking an experienced professional to manage procurement activities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) on behalf of our client. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating suppliers globally in alignment with client requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including request for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders, and supply contracts.
  • Monitor supplier performance, compliance, and adherence to quality, delivery, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (quality assurance, regulatory, and supply chain) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Track market trends, supply risks, and alternative sourcing options to maintain a reliable supply base.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers to foster trust and partnership.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in API sourcing, procurement, or supplier management within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Understanding of global regulatory requirements (USFDA, EMA, etc.) for API sourcing.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing environment.
