Financial Controller

We are seeking a skilled and experienced financial professional to join our team as a Financial Controller. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of finance and administration, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with our team on most important activities in finance and administration. These activities will vary based on the company's current focus, offering a dynamic and engaging work experience.

  • Manage end-to-end accounting processes to ensure accurate books of accounts are done on time.
  • Oversee account receivable/accounts payable and payroll operations to ensure timely payments and efficient cash flow management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including tax compliance, internal audit, and statutory reporting.
  • Provide clear visibility (dashboards, MIS, financial statements) for statutory reporting and internal reporting of yearly, quarterly, and monthly financials to various stakeholders like CXOs, Board, and external agencies as required.
  • Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for expense and investment.
  • Manage external relationships and partnerships, including banks, legal advisors, and government offices.
  • Actively participate and liaise with company auditors to ensure smooth and timely audits.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices (setting up SOPs).
  • Support the management in the next round of fund raises with requisite data, analysis, and due diligence.

Key qualifications include:

  • A qualified or inter chartered accountant (CA) with 3+ years of experience in similar roles with small-medium-sized companies or technology start-ups.
  • Prior experience working in e-commerce accounting is an added plus.
  • Experience in building the finance function from 0-1 for a scaling commerce company is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and verbal and written abilities.
  • The ability to adapt to uncertainty and ambiguity.
