Job Description

This is a challenging role that requires an experienced and skilled engineer to lead the development of interior components for new or ongoing programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Develop Exterior Components: The successful candidate will design and develop exterior door trims, including soft and hard trims, door claddings, pillar capping, and finishers. They will also be responsible for ensuring that these components meet quality, cost, and time requirements.
  • Manage Commodity Plans: The chosen candidate will own and deliver commodity plans to quality, cost, and time, including maintaining the worldwide engineering release system.
  • Lead Supplier Teams: They will manage change requests, expenditure forecasting, and supplier teams in support of program milestones.
  • Resolve Compatibility Issues: The ideal candidate will resolve compatibility issues with A-surfaces, surrounding component packaging, and vehicle attribute teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are required for this role:

  • Leadership Experience: Previous experience in leading resolution of business, technical, and process issues within a project team environment.
  • Product Creation and Delivery: Good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition, and change management processes.
  • Automotive Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of automotive body cabin systems, plastic & sheet metal materials, design rules, bill of design, bill of process, DFMEA, DVP, DFM, part & assembly level tests, etc.
  • CAD Skills: Ability to create 2D sections and 3D geometry using Catia V5/V6/TCE/Digibuck.
  • Experience with CATIA: Experience in using CATIA V5 & V6.
  • Domain Knowledge: Good knowledge of domain knowledge, parametric modelling, BOM creation, and update.
  • Delivery History: Successful history of delivery within the automotive sector.
  • Education: BE/B. Tech, ME in Mechanical/Production/Automotive Engineering.
