Senior Data Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced data engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in designing and implementing large-scale data warehouses, as well as expertise in Snowflake security and SQL.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Snowpipe, SnowSQL, Snowsight, and Snowflake connectors, as well as a strong understanding of Star and Snowflake dimensional modeling.

In addition to their technical skills, the candidate should be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and DW/BI leads.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement modern data warehouse solutions using Snowflake and Azure Data Factory.
  • Collaborate with DW/BI leads to understand new ETL pipeline development requirements.
  • Triage issues to find gaps in existing pipelines and fix the issues.
  • Work with business to understand reporting needs and develop a data model to fulfill those needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Total 6+ years of IT experience and 3+ years' experience in Data Warehouse/ETL projects.
Necessary Skills:
  • Expertise in Snowflake security, Snowflake SQL, and designing/implementing other Snowflake objects.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake utilities, SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Snowsight, and Snowflake connectors.
  • Strong understanding of Star and Snowflake dimensional modeling.
  • Good knowledge of Data Management principles.
  • Experience in building ETL/data warehouse transformation processes.
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data, including imaging and geospatial data.
  • Proficiency in RDBMS, complex SQL, PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and Query Optimization.
  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate/Professional Certification (Desirable).
Prioritised Skills:
  • Snowflake/Azure Data Factory/PySpark.
