Job Title:L2 Network Engineer - Cisco Tetration

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced L2 Network Engineer with 7-8 years of overall experience in networking and strong hands-on exposure to Cisco Tetration for a contract position.

The engineer will be responsible for supporting and managing the customer's Cisco Tetration platform deployed in their Data Center environment, ensuring effective monitoring, policy enforcement, and system optimization.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Level 2 operational support for Cisco Tetration, including day-to-day monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Assist in the configuration and deployment of Cisco Tetration components and sensors.
  • Support the implementation of application segmentation and micro-segmentation policies across the data center environment.
  • Analyze telemetry data to ensure network visibility, security posture, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal IT and security teams to troubleshoot policy conflicts and application visibility issues.
  • Assist with upgrades, patches, and performance tuning of the Tetration platform.
  • Maintain technical documentation and support logs related to Cisco Tetration operations.
  • Escalate issues to L3/engineering teams as necessary, following incident management protocols.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 7-8 years of total experience in Network Engineering or IT Infrastructure roles.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience with Cisco Tetration platform in operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), VLANs, ACLs, and firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of data center infrastructure, virtualization (VMware), and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with application traffic mapping, segmentation, and policy enforcement using Cisco Tetration.
  • Familiarity with network and security best practices, compliance, and audit reporting.
  • Good communication skills to work in a distributed and remote support model.

Preferred Skills:
  • Exposure to automation tools like Python or Ansible for Tetration integration.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, telemetry data, and policy modeling in Tetration.
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale micro-segmentation or zero-trust architectures.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Professional (CCNP)
  • Cisco Tetration-related training or certification (if available)
  • Other relevant certifications in network security or data center technologies
