About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Surveillance Analyst Compliance to join our team in Birmingham, UK. As a key member of our compliance surveillance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of our surveillance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a conduit between London and Birmingham-based teams, understanding high-complex processes and making judgment calls that require strong interpretation skills.
- Perform timely review and investigation of surveillance alerts and escalations, taking necessary action for Trading, Communications, and Information Barriers Surveillance.
- Review and opine on alerts, including Trading, emails, and other communications, for potential breaches of laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Develop methodologies to identify, monitor, and test areas of compliance risk, building and fostering close relationships with stakeholders.
- Work with Compliance Information Technology in the preparation and User Acceptance Testing of new models, amendments to existing models, to ensure effectiveness and coverage of alerts.
Requirements
- Specific surveillance, trading, or middle office experience covering a variety of financial products is beneficial.
- Compliance/regulatory experience would be beneficial.
- An ability to manage to deadlines and ensure adherence to regulatory/audit requirements.
- Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written.
- The ability to explain complex concepts in simple and easy-to-understand language.
