About the Role

We seek an experienced Senior Merchandiser to lead our product development and vendor management strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Development & Launches
    • Create gold and diamond jewellery collections based on market trends and consumer demand.
    • Evaluate design aesthetics, cost, and commercial viability to drive sales growth.
    • Coordinate timely launches and seasonal assortments for peak periods.
  • Vendor Management & Sourcing
    • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to optimize quality, timelines, and costs.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and ethical sourcing practices.
    • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and assess supplier performance regularly.
  • Inventory Planning & Sales Support
    • Monitor stock levels, sell-through rates, and category performance.
    • Optimize inventory across channels to maximize profitability.
    • Implement stock rotation strategies to minimize dead stock.
  • Market Research & Trend Analysis
    • Track competitor activity, pricing, and consumer trends.
    • Recommend new product lines and design directions based on insights.
    • Contribute to brand positioning strategies with data-driven inputs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with design, production, retail, and marketing teams.
    • Support launches with product training and merchandising strategies.
    • Ensure cohesive execution of brand vision across channels.
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Mentor junior merchandisers and cross-functional team members.
    • Lead projects from concept to execution with accountability for outcomes.
Essential Skills, Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Proven expertise in gold and diamond jewellery merchandising with a deep understanding of diamonds, gemstones, settings, certifications, and jewellery quality standards.
  • Strong negotiation, sourcing, and supply chain management experience.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and trend forecasting skills with the ability to translate insights into commercially viable collections.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities with experience in mentoring teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/Merchandising systems, and knowledge of jewellery design software (preferred).
  • Graduate in Gemology, Jewellery Design, Merchandising, or Business Administration.
  • GIA/IGI or equivalent certification will be an added advantage.
