About the Position

Tata Steel Long Products is seeking an experienced Senior Officer to lead the Billet Preparation Line at our Gamharia facility in Jamshedpur. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of billets, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and driving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Billet Preparation Operations: Monitor and optimize the preparation of billets, including shot blasting, MPI, grinding, and sorting table operations.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Plan and manage spares requirements, perform condition-based monitoring, and ensure prompt resolution of equipment breakdowns.
  • Team Management: Supervise and train subordinates, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Maintain accurate records, process regular bills, and ensure adherence to IATF internal and external audit requirements.
  • Collaboration: Cooperate with TSTI for employee training, and engage with mechanical and electrical agencies to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Rolling Mill/SMS operations
  • Full-time Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
