Program Manager

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our livelihood program. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for the overall strategy and implementation of the project.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Operations and Learning: Support project leads/teams to effectively implement livelihood activities aligned with the project design, activity plan, and quality standards.
  • Enhance Technical Quality: Enhance the technical quality of project interventions through regular coordination with the Director – Social Additionality.
  • Implementation Plans and Budgets: Develop detailed implementation plans and budgets; support project teams in achieving defined objectives and targets.
  • Issue Directives and Guidelines: Issue relevant directives and guidelines for timely and effective implementation of project activities.
  • Operational Challenges: Proactively identify operational challenges and coordinate timely solutions with the project team and Director – SA.
  • Knowledge Management: Develop knowledge management products such as case studies, success stories, technical manuals, and booklets showcasing project impact.
  • Reflective Practices: Promote reflective practices to continuously refine strategies and approaches for greater impact and scalability.
Enterprise Development:
  • Women-Led Plastic Collection Centers: Establish women-led Plastic Collection Centers and Collection Points within waste collector communities.
  • E-Trike Based Collection: Launch e-tricycle-based plastic waste collection initiatives for informal waste collectors.
  • Skill Training Initiatives: Implement skill training initiatives and develop market linkages to ensure decent income opportunities for target groups.
  • Partnerships: Forge partnerships with government bodies, private sector actors, and technical institutions for capacity building, technical and enterprise support.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong networks with key stakeholders to support the effective delivery of the project.
  • Institutional Linkages: Collaborate with government departments, including state urban/rural livelihood missions.
  • District Level Linkages: Establish institutional linkages at the district level with banks, incubator/accelerator programs, retail outlets, and e-commerce platforms for financial and marketing support.
Capacity Building:
  • Entrepreneurship Awareness: Organize entrepreneurship awareness and development programs for beneficiaries.
  • Multistakeholder Workshops: Coordinate multi-stakeholder workshops on enterprise development.
  • EDPs and Mentorship: Conduct EAPs (Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs), EDPs (Entrepreneurship Development Programs), and mentorship sessions for emerging entrepreneurs.
  • Business Support: Offer continuous business support and mentorship for women micro-entrepreneurs.
  • Capacity Needs Assessment: Conduct capacity needs assessments for institutional partners as needed.
  • Iec Materials: Develop IEC materials, demonstration tools, training modules, and capacity-building resources.
Reporting and Documentation:
  • Key Performance Indicators: Log key performance indicators (KPIs) into the PFC platform for monitoring.
  • Data Flow: Ensure accurate, timely documentation and data flow through the PFC technology platform.
  • Policies and SOPs: Periodically review and update policies and SOPs with required documentation.
  • Reports Submission: Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports in prescribed formats.
  • Financial Reports: Prepare and submit financial reports on income and expenditure.
  • MIS Data Analysis: Maintain and analyze all MIS (Management Information System) data.
  • Project Insights: Provide insights and analysis of project activities to the Director – SA and relevant teams as required.
General Responsibilities:
  • Professionalism: Maintain high standards of professionalism and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Policies and Protocols: Uphold PFC's policies, SOPs, and protocols across all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborative Communication: Foster collaborative communication with stakeholders.
  • Data Security: Ensure confidentiality and data security at all times.
  • Frequent Travel: Be open to frequent travel across India, including on short notice, based on project needs.
  • Broad Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the broader PFC team and external partners.
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:
  • Master's Degree: Master's degree in Social Work/Sciences, Entrepreneurship Development, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 Years Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience managing livelihood or income generation programs in the social sector.
  • Social Business Development: Experience in social business development is highly desirable.
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience working with informal sectors and vulnerable workforce.
  • Sustainability Concepts: Strong understanding of social and environmental sustainability concepts.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English, Tamil, Bengali, and Telugu is essential.

  • Language Fluency: Fluency in Telugu and English is essential; knowledge of Hindi is a plus.
  • ICT Tools: Proficient in MS Office and other ICT tools.

  • Project Deliverables: Proven ability to manage project deliverables within timelines and budgets.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ability to incorporate feedback and continuously improve project outcomes.
