Insurance Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Insurance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire group and global insurance activities pertaining to assets, liabilities, vehicles, marine, operational assets, and projects.

- Manage the timely renewal of insurance cover and payment of premiums for all company assets.

- Handle the entire insurance portfolio of the company and its subsidiaries, including various types of insurances such as Fire, Burglary, Machinery Breakdown, Electronic Equipment, IAR, Motor Insurance, Liability Insurance (CGL, D&O, Cyber Security & Crime Insurances), Contractors All Risk (CAR) Insurance, Money Insurance, Fidelity Guarantee Insurance, WC etc.

- Review potential risks, recommend coverages, and ensure adequate coverage based on the project schedule, budget, and other relevant factors.

- Coordinate with valuers for asset valuation and evaluate the adequacy of the valuation of assets as per general norms.

- Invite quotes from insurance companies as per management requirements.

- Negotiate with insurers on final renewal premium, terms, conditions, and clauses to be incorporated under the policy.

- Check policy documents for any irregularities in policy terms, conditions, clauses, warranties, exclusions, deductibles, etc.

- Meet officials of insurance companies and intermediaries for premium negotiations and claims settlements.

- Ensure timely renewals and follow-up on policy documents and pending claims.

- Coordinate with inter-departments and site teams for policy renewals/new placements and claims handling.

- Be the one-point contact for claims management from intimation to settlement.

- Meet representatives of insurers, brokers, and surveyors for required documentation.

- Timely submission of claim-related documents and follow-up with insurance companies to ensure claims get settled on time with optimum value.

- Prepare and present monthly and annual budgets for insurance premiums across various operational and under-construction projects.

- Maintain all insurance policies, records, and Claims log.

- Prepare and present Insurance MIS to management from time to time.

- Must have worked in large manufacturing companies, ideally in the Iron/Steel/Renewable Energies sector, with at least 16+ years of experience in handling India and Global Insurance portfolios. A graduate/postgraduate degree is required.
