Role Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Catastrophe Modeller to lead our team in developing and implementing advanced catastrophe modelling solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk assessment, data analysis, and team management, with experience in managing complex projects and providing high-quality results.

  • Lead a team of experts in developing and maintaining catastrophe models, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments of individual accounts or portfolios, utilizing provided information and data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Evaluate and improve the end-to-end catastrophe modelling process, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyze location information, prioritize high-value and high-risk locations, and maintain exposure databases for accuracy.
  • Support underwriters in queries, exposure movement year over year, and contribute ideas for process enhancement.
  • Understand and interpret model results, providing risk-specific observations to underwriters.
  • Manage work allocations, governance, and internal/external client calls.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years' experience in cat modelling/treaty modelling, preferably with insurance/reinsurance experience.
  • Familiarity with AIR touchstone, SQL, and MS office proficiency.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excel manipulation and VBA programming language expertise.
  • Team management and leadership skills.
