Database Performance Optimization Specialist

As a seasoned Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of our database operations. You will work closely with data architects, analysts, and database owners to support both short-term and long-term strategy implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support ongoing efforts and provide technical guidance for multiple database re-platforming initiatives.
  2. Review and implement data loading scripts related to Golden Gate data replication.
  3. Optimize and tune SQL queries and indexes in Oracle databases.
  4. Stay up-to-date with Oracle 12c/Oracle 19c/Exadata added capabilities and functionality.
  5. Develop strong programming skills using PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers).
  6. Proficient in performance tuning using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and Hints.
  7. Strong knowledge of database triggers, indexes, and partitioning.
  8. Expertise in Oracle architecture.
  9. Read Query Execution Plans and evaluate performance characteristics of SQL queries.
  10. Manage database objects like tablespace, users, indexes, roles, privileges, profiles, and synonyms.
  11. Monitor database performance as it relates to memory usage, proper backups, active sessions, long-running queries, tablespace configuration, and space allocations.
  12. Coordinate with data architects and analysts on schema building, table creation, function development, view creation, stored procedure development, and role management.
  13. Provide DBA supervision and Oracle best practices guidance for custom application development and routine database administration.

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of logical and physical DBA experience, including experience in Oracle Exadata.
  2. Extensive working knowledge of Database Data Movement and Processing, including Golden Gate and Informatica ETL.
  3. Familiarity with JIRA workflow processes and agile methodology.
  4. Working experience with TOAD or Oracle SQL Developer.
  5. Good Communication skills.
  6. Self-Motivated.
  7. Team player.
