Financial Analyst Job Description

The role of a Financial Analyst involves overseeing the monthly financial accounting processes for designated legal entities in the APAC region under the supervision of the Finance Manager. This includes managing all aspects of financial reporting and ensuring compliance with local and US regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post month-end accruals and prepayments to ensure accurate cost capture and recognition for both local and US reporting requirements.
  • Set up and input bank transactions into the ledger as journals, maintaining accuracy and transparency.
  • Generate daily cash reports for all APAC businesses, providing real-time insights into cash flows.
  • Review daily cash requirements for APAC entities, ensuring appropriate funding arrangements are in place.
  • Establish and post monthly journals for tasks such as depreciation, updating supporting spreadsheets accordingly.
  • Perform certain treasury functions, including making payments, settling intercompany invoices, and ensuring adequate cash levels in local bank accounts.
  • Produce trial balances for relevant countries to meet month-end close US reporting deadlines.
  • Provide management information for UK and local needs as required, offering strategic insights to stakeholders.
  • Conduct P&L review, Flux analysis, and contribute to cost control initiatives as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager, local advisors, and other team members to ensure timely completion of year-end audit, statutory accounts, and tax returns.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliation of control accounts, bank accounts, and all asset debtor and creditor accounts on time based on risk category.
  • Maintain liaison with other Finance team members within the APAC region and overseas to guarantee account integrity.
  • Ensure VAT and other local statutory and tax reporting is completed accurately and on time.
  • Guarantee adherence to Group Finance policies and procedures, consistently applying them across operations.
  • Serve as the key Finance contact for operational managers and local employees of relevant countries.
