Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Revenue Accountant / Revenue Recognition Analyst, located in Bengaluru.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage end-to-end revenue accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely recognition in compliance with ASC 606 / IFRS 15
  • Review customer contracts and agreements to determine appropriate revenue treatment, including multi-element arrangements and variable considerations
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and FP&A teams to assess deal structures and ensure alignment with revenue recognition policies
  • Prepare and maintain revenue schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations for month-end and quarter-end close
  • Analyze deferred revenue, billing schedules, and revenue forecasts to support financial reporting and audit readiness
  • Partner with IT and finance systems teams to enhance automation and reporting capabilities related to revenue
  • Support external audits and internal controls by providing documentation and insights into revenue processes
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and advise on implications for revenue recognition

Qualifications  

  • 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting or revenue recognition, preferably in a SaaS, technology, or services environment
  • CPA or CA qualification
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 and practical application in complex contract scenarios
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and revenue sub-ledgers or modules
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reconciliations); experience with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with finance, legal, and sales teams
