Intellectual Property Leader

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to head our Intellectual Property team. This role will be responsible for driving the development of our IP portfolio, ensuring the optimal protection of our intellectual property, and guiding a team of IP professionals in a fast-paced environment.

About the Position
  • The successful candidate will have extensive experience in IP matters, including product clearance, patent filing and prosecution, litigation, licensing, trademark clearance, and registration for various regions.
  • They will lead a team in delivering results, growing with the company, and contributing to its success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the company's IP portfolio.
  • Implement effective IP processes to ensure timely protection of intellectual property and third-party partner interests.
  • Work closely with Global IP Head, Research and Development, and Portfolio teams to:
  • Identify products for introduction into the development grid.
  • Devise and manage the most effective product development strategy for the portfolio.
  • Assess patentability and provide guidance on patent filings.
  • Draft patents, freedom to operate reports, infringement and validity analysis, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
  • File and prosecute inventive solutions to build significant wealth of intellectual property.
  • Monitor and evaluate third-party scientific and patent publications.
  • Provide IP-related inputs to support legal agreements and negotiations.
  • Partner with other legal and business functions to provide strategic advice and strategy in connection with M&A transactions, licensing agreements, research collaborations, adverse proceedings, and litigation activities.
  • Manage patent, trademark, copyright, and related issues.
  • Maintain appropriate record architecture and content of the company's inventions, know-how, trade secrets, and registered intellectual property.
  • Educate management and scientists on current best practices for protecting inventions and intellectual property.
  • Lead, empower, and coach a team of IP professionals.
