Emergency Response Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Emergency Response Assistant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting our emergency response team in handling urgent animal emergencies, rescues, and cruelty cases involving animals.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about ending cruelty to animals and helping those in need.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and e-mails in a professional manner.
  • Arrange timely assistance for animals in need, working with senior paravets and office assistants as needed.
  • Coordinate with approved animal-protection organisations, volunteers, activists, government bodies, and officials to facilitate emergency rescues across the country.
  • File police complaints and First Information Reports as necessary, and perform similar tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of all calls and e-mails received, including how they were handled and concluded.
  • Participate in professional development training on animal handling, restraining, first aid, and other relevant lessons.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution.
  • Voluntary or other experience handling emergency and cruelty-case responses for animals (a plus).
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in Hindi and English.
  • Knowledge of other local Indian languages (a plus).
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, including multi-tasking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deal patiently with animal-protection organisations, volunteers, and contacts.
  • Passion for ending cruelty to animals and helping those in need.
  • Compassionate, responsible, and self-driven character.
  • Outgoing and personable manner with excellent communication skills.
  • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle.
  • Ability and willingness to travel independently as needed.
  • Supportive position vis-à-vis our philosophy and the ability to advocate for our positions in a professional manner.
