Senior Content Editor Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Content Editor to curate, edit, and produce engaging content for print and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in education, careers, and youth trends.

The Senior Content Editor will be responsible for developing and implementing content strategies aligned with our goals and objectives. This includes collaborating with senior management on content strategy, team performance, and editorial planning.

  • Develop content strategies that meet business objectives.
  • Curate and develop compelling content focused on education, careers, innovations, student initiatives, and campus life.
  • Contribute fresh story ideas and support in conducting interviews and field reporting when necessary.
  • Coordinate with designers and digital teams to ensure timely and quality content delivery.
  • Lead and mentor a team of writers and interns, ensuring quality and consistency across all content.
  • Work closely with the editorial team to plan and structure content for print and web editions.
  • Assign tasks, track progress, and provide editorial feedback to team members to help them improve and grow.
  • Ensure all content aligns with editorial guidelines and tone.
  • Edit and proofread articles submitted by reporters, freelancers, and contributors for accuracy, clarity, and grammar.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Journalism or Mass Communication.
  • 8 – 12 years of experience in journalism, preferably with a focus on education, youth, or career-related content.
  • Strong editing, writing, and storytelling skills with impeccable grammar.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
  • Familiarity with digital publishing tools and social media platforms is an added advantage.
  • A keen interest in education systems and youth affairs.
  • Proven experience in handling and leading teams is a strong plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in education journalism or content creation for student-centric platforms.
  • Exposure to multimedia content creation (video/audio/newsletters) will be a plus.
