Business Intelligence and Financial Analysis Specialist

The role of a Business Intelligence and Financial Analysis Specialist involves providing strategic financial expertise and support to specific business units or departments within the organisation. This includes acting as a liaison between the finance function and various business units, helping to bridge the gap between financial data and business decisions.

Accountabilities
  • Financial Strategy Development: Develop and implement business unit financial strategies, plans and budgets, using insights to evaluate the financial implications of strategic initiatives and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Financial Modelling: Develop financial models to forecast future performance, assess investment opportunities, and evaluate financial risks for business units, and to analyse the impact of business decisions on financial performance and provision of recommendations.
  • Financial Insights: Provide financial insights and guidance to business unit stakeholders through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities and implement financial process improvements that streamline financial operations.
  • Financial Risk Management: Support business units in identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks, including provision of training and guidance to business units on financial risk management and compliance practices.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise.
  • Leadership Skills: Thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise, including leadership skills to guide and supervise a team, guiding and supporting professional development, allocating work requirements and coordinating team resources.

This role has an impact on the work of related teams within the area, requiring partnership with other functions and business areas, taking responsibility for end results of a team's operational processing and activities, escalating breaches of policies/procedures appropriately, and advising and influencing decision-making within own area of expertise.
