Accountant Role

This position is part of a respected accounting firm that offers comprehensive services under the umbrella of various industries.

Our team is seeking an experienced accountant to oversee general accounting operations, controlling and verifying financial transactions. The accountant will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining a general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures.

The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Plan, assign, and review staff's work
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP principles
  • Liaise with our Financial Controllers to improve financial procedures
Requirements

• Proven experience as an accountant.

• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures

• In-depth understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP)

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages

• Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

• Degree in Accounting or Finance

• Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) will be preferred.

• General computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, etc.)
