Construction Project Manager Job Description

Job Overview:

A Construction Project Manager oversees and coordinates construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they meet quality standards, are completed on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution: Manage and direct the day-to-day activities of construction teams, including project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Quality Control: Inspect work-in-progress to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Develop, implement, and enforce a comprehensive safety program to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to allocate resources efficiently, minimizing delays and costs.
  • Technical Support: Provide guidance on construction methods, materials, and techniques to ensure high-quality results.
  • Site Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including progress reports, site diaries, and change orders, to track project developments and make informed decisions.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues promptly, using effective communication and problem-solving skills to minimize disruptions and maintain project momentum.
  • Client Communication: Keep clients informed about project progress, address their concerns, and ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.
  • Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to verify work quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience: 3-7 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Skills: Proficiency in construction management software, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities.
