Geotechnical Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working on projects across the APAC region.

Job Responsibilities:
  • You will be responsible for interpreting, analyzing, and calculating geotechnical design elements, including foundations, slope stabilization, and retaining structures.
  • You will prepare technical/project reports, drawings, and other documents to a high standard.
  • You will produce and review designs, calculations, contract documentation, specifications, schedules, construction estimates, and drawings suitable for contract preparation.
  • You will focus on developing and promoting digital engineering tools, processes, and workflows to enhance delivery efficiency.
  • You will support the calculation of embodied carbon across project portfolios and assist in developing tools to aid project teams in reducing embodied carbon in designs.
  • You will undertake verification and validation of deliverables, self-check own work, and peer-review team members' work as necessary.
Requirements:
  • You must have general technical expertise in geotechnical engineering with a demonstrable understanding of underlying principles.
  • You must be familiar with the design of civil engineering projects, including deep and shallow foundations, embedded and gravity retaining walls, earthworks/slope stability, and reinforced earthworks.
  • You must understand geotechnical interpretative reports, including recommendations for deep and shallow foundations and shoring works, slope stability analyses, and finite element modeling.
  • You must be proficient in geological and geotechnical analysis applications, such as GeoStudio suite, RocScience suite, SLIDE, Wallap, L Pile, Geo5, Plaxis, and Cliq.
  • You must have a sound appreciation of technical risks and be able to manage and communicate them with the project team and/or client.
Desirable Skills:
  • You should have experience across a range of projects relating to property and buildings and transport and port infrastructure, especially in soft soils environments and ground treatment solutions.
  • You should have an understanding of site investigation techniques and prior experience in supervising field investigation works.
  • You should have knowledge of construction and procurement practices, with the ability to seek innovative value-engineered solutions for projects.
Qualifications:
  • You must hold a minimum postgraduate degree in geotechnical engineering or rock mechanics; PhDs are welcome.
  • You should have additional studies in carbon estimation or carbon reduction in design.
  • You should have expertise in OneClick LCA, GeoStudio suite, RocScience suite, SLIDE, Wallap, L Pile, Geo5, Plaxis, and Cliq; MA Office suites including Power BI, understanding statistical analysis preferred.
  • Membership of professional organisations and chartered status is preferred.
  • You should have post-qualification professional experience in the range of 4-8 years.
