We are seeking a skilled Database Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining and migrating secure databases on Cloud and On-Prem platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, install, tune, deploy, secure, migrate and upgrade DBMS installations
  • Monitor database performance, identify and resolve database issues
  • Migrate databases across Cloud and On-Prem platforms with minimal or no downtime
  • Provide guidance and support to Developers on design, code review, SQL query performance tuning
  • Set up HA/DR systems, replication, database encryption, index and filegroup management
  • Monitor database system for performance and capacity constraints
  • Liaise with Managers, Developers, Operations, System and Database administrators
  • Suggest changes and improvements for database management, maintenance and security

About the Role:

As a Database Operations Specialist, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our databases, providing expert guidance and support to other teams, and contributing to the development of new technologies and processes.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in database administration, including design, implementation and maintenance
  • Excellent technical skills, including knowledge of DBMS installations, performance tuning and security
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers, operations and other stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Continuous learning mindset, with a desire to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends
