Database Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee database locking, process blocking, and performance tuning to ensure seamless operations.
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architecture to safeguard critical data.
  • Develop monitoring and metrics tooling and dashboards for database performance and operation to inform strategic decisions.
  • Implement preventative infrastructure management strategies to mitigate potential future issues.
  • Collaborate with peers to handle support tickets and provide backup assistance when necessary.
  • Design, develop, and deploy new database objects and changes to existing objects to meet evolving business needs.
  • Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development and enhance database capabilities.
  • Design and maintain complex relational database reports using SSRS to facilitate data-driven decision making.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Advanced understanding of relational database architecture and MSSQL.
  • Proficiency in SSMS, SSRS, and supporting tooling.
  • Expertise in T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and day-to-day DB functions.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and software development lifecycles and application integration techniques.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex problems.
  • Effective communication skills to convey ideas clearly to managers and peers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
