Job Title: Senior Cloud Database Specialist

Are you an expert in SQL Server upgrades, Always On Availability Groups, and cloud migrations? Do you have a passion for ensuring performance, availability, security, and scalability of mission-critical databases?

Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead and execute complex SQL Server upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.

  • Develop and implement robust strategies for upgrading SQL Server instances with minimal downtime.
  • Design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments to ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Migrate databases to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) while maintaining data integrity and minimizing disruption.
Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Leading and executing SQL Server upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.
  2. Designing, configuring, and managing Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments.
  3. Migrating databases to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services).
  4. Monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing SQL Server performance.
  5. Ensuring regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  6. Collaborating with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  7. Developing and maintaining documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  8. Ensuring compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong expertise in SQL Server upgrades, Always On Availability Groups, and cloud migrations.
  • Proven track record of leading and executing complex IT projects.
  • Experience with database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
