Senior Cloud Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Database Administrator to manage our Redshift clusters and support AWS services.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Administer scalable cloud environments and applications for data organization, utilizing AWS technologies like Redshift, RDS, S3, EC2, NLB, and VPC.
  • Install and maintain software, services, and applications by identifying system requirements, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Provide expert-level database experience with AWS Redshift, AWS RDS, MySQL, and Snowflake, as well as troubleshooting skills for AWS Services and DB/Server.
  • Maintain the environment's stability by monitoring system performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing upgrades and enhancements.
  • Ensure knowledge of day-to-day database operations, deployments, and development, including SQL and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with Linux Shell Scripting or Python is a must.
  • Troubleshoot system hardware, software, and operating and system management systems.
  • Manage incident and change management processes, release management, code deployment, and after-hours on-call support.
  • Test disaster recovery policies and procedures, complete backups, and maintain documentation.
  • Upgrade system and services, develop, test, evaluate, and install new software enhancements.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is required.
  • 6+ years of experience in System, Platform, and AWS Cloud Administration.
  • 4+ years of experience in Database Administration using latest AWS Technologies.
  • 2+ years of Snowflake administration experience.
  • Experience with Agile Software Development using JIRA.
  • Multiple OS platforms experience, with a strong emphasis on Linux and Windows systems.
  • Experience with scripting environments such as KSH shell, PowerShell.
  • Version management tools and CICD pipeline expertise.
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocol suite, security architecture, securing and hardening Operating Systems, Networks, Databases, and Applications.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and relational databases, query authoring (SQL), query performance tuning.
  • Data pipelines and dataset optimization experience.
  • Incident Response life cycle familiarity.
  • AWS Solution Architect certifications are preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
