PostgreSQL Support Engineer

As a seasoned PostgreSQL expert, you will be responsible for providing top-notch support to our clients. This role involves troubleshooting complex technical issues, optimizing database performance, and ensuring the smooth operation of our PostgreSQL solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to PostgreSQL
  • Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and configuration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems
  • Develop and maintain knowledge bases, runbooks, and documentation to support team members
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance support processes and tools

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience administering PostgreSQL in production environments
  • Deep understanding of Linux and shell scripting
  • Proven track record with Kubernetes and PostgreSQL Operators
  • Mastery of performance tuning: query plans, WAL tuning, connection pooling
  • Experience with Prometheus/Grafana monitoring stacks
  • Excellent problem-solving, written/spoken English, and customer-facing skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud-native services (AWS RDS/Aurora, GCP Cloud SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools
  • Background in backup/restore strategies and PITR
  • Working knowledge of NoSQL integrations
  • Certifications: CKA, CKAD, or PostgreSQL Certified Professional
