Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to provide high-level programming support to the statistics and programming department across various projects, clients, and therapeutic areas.

This study programmer position will be responsible for manipulating large databases and generating reports to enable analysts to explore real-world healthcare data assets. The ideal candidate must possess excellent SAS and SQL programming skills, along with the ability to implement complex logic.

Candidates should be comfortable creating complex analysis data sets derived from various data sources, while maintaining a keen eye for outliers and errors. Prior experience building patient cohorts and evaluating patient healthcare events in large databases, utilizing observational research methods such as epidemiology and statistical methods, is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SAS and SQL programming expertise
  • Experience with advanced statistical methods such as survival and regression
  • Proficiency in working with real-world healthcare claims and EHR data

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, along with a minimum of 7-8 years of experience in SAS statistical programming. They should also have experience with database programming using SQL and be familiar with advanced statistical methods such as survival and regression.

A Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related field is desirable, as well as training or experience using the OMOP common data model. Familiarity with Python, R, Databricks, or other cloud-based software is also a plus.
