Interior Cockpit Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Interior Cockpit Engineer to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of interior cockpit components and ensuring their integration into our vehicles.

  • Establish, plan, and run engineering sub-system meetings to ensure cross-functional representation and input from relevant areas.
  • Ensure progression of design maturity from initial concept through to Engineering Sign-Off and design gateways.
  • Establish and maintain the teamwork plan aligned to vehicle program.
  • Ensure Regulatory compliance of system, sub-system, and components.
  • Define appropriate engineering targets to meet function, quality & attribute requirements for the Vehicle Program.
  • Develop and maintain the design validation plan (DVP) including both in-house and supplier testing plan and ensure development signoff tests are completed on schedule.
  • Develop System Design Specifications incorporating engineering standards, test procedures, and material specifications.
  • Lead Failure Mode Avoidance activities including DFMEA, quality history reviews, and DFA/D FM reviews.
  • Lead the resolution of design, attribute, or packaging incompatibilities through the appropriate cross-functional meetings.
  • Manage Supplier(s) to ensure system/component delivery to vehicle program timing and attribute targets.
  • Support Purchasing team in Sourcing and RFQ activities including the creation of ESOWs, CAD SOWs, PDSs, and ESIs.
  • Support vehicle launch and pre-production builds (both virtual and physical).
  • Ensure the effective application of APQP to manage system/component delivery.
  • Ensure delivery of PSW, through planning from project start to sign off.
  • Follow and deliver company goals and strategies.
Key Responsibilities Summary:

The ideal candidate should have proven project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery in line with time, cost, quality & attribute targets.

An extensive experience in right-first-time development and integration of at least one of the following commodities - Cockpit Console and Interior Trims is required.

A detailed understanding of design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements is also necessary.

Excellent communication skills, with demonstrable ability of communicating with cross-functional teams and influencing at all levels are a must.
