Job Opportunity: Senior Legal Manager

The Senior Legal Manager will be responsible for providing strategic legal counsel and guidance on all real estate-related matters, including property acquisitions, development, leasing, and dispositions. This role requires a deep understanding of real estate law, contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

  • Provide senior leadership with advice on legal issues related to real estate investments, development projects, property management, and transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to real estate transactions, including purchase agreements, leases, development agreements, and joint venture agreements.
  • Oversee legal due diligence processes for real estate acquisitions and sales, ensuring that all risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal real estate laws, zoning regulations, and environmental standards. Monitor and interpret new and evolving real estate laws.
  • Manage and coordinate legal disputes, including working with external counsel on litigation matters related to real estate issues.
  • Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to minimize exposure for the company in real estate transactions and operations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior legal staff, providing guidance and training in real estate law and best practices.
  • Work closely with the finance, development, and operations teams to ensure legal alignment on all projects and transactions.
  • Maintain and organize legal documents related to real estate projects, including title documents, permits, and contracts.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other professional service providers, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal support.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of legal documents and agreements to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Draft comprehensive memorandums summarizing key considerations of reviewed documents.
  • Manage preparation and documentation for residential and real estate transactions from initiation to completion, ensuring meticulous adherence to process.
  • Liaise with clients to gather necessary information for file preparation, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Perform necessary due diligence for real estate transactions, including conducting off-title searches and noting critical dates.
  • Conduct conflict checks and communicate with clients to obtain less information, ensuring all necessary details are recorded in client sheets.
  • Obtain and verify government-issued identification from clients as part of transaction process.
