Cloud-Native Engineering Manager Job Description

This is a senior leadership position for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the development and delivery of cloud-native web applications.

  • Provide guidance on developing scalable, secure, and maintainable cloud-native applications.
  • Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-grade microservices in a distributed/cloud-based environment.
  • Deliver assigned projects within agreed quality standards in Agile Scrum environment.
  • Partner with Product Management, Architects, Operations, other delivery teams, and Release Management to ensure effective launch and delivery of projects to satisfy business needs.
  • Lead teams to ensure project delivery success.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 12 – 15 years related experience, of which at least 8+ years in development, 4+ years of Engineering Management role, and leading scrum teams.
  • Experience in microservice architecture, domain-driven design, and RESTful Services using languages such as Java, Node, or Go.
  • Experience working in a distributed/cloud-based environment (e.g., Azure, Amazon, Rackspace, GCP etc.).
  • Exposure to continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests. Continuous delivery experience preferred.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge and experience in design and coding.
